maybe its something i'm just not meant to have.

I opened the presents one by one
My eyes were filled with tears.
Why is it that we must part
After all these years?

I had searched a thousand miles
but true friendship could not find
Just as the treasure was unfolded,
it had to be left behind.

The creulty of time is felt
when such things come to pass
But our hearts are joined forever
by friendship that will last.
