And another day
Went shopping after violin lesson, and the last time i did shopping with my parents was about a month ago.
And i saw 2 kids fighting over a synthesizer, trying out the different modes and playing simple tunes like over the rainbow and london bridge is falling down. They got excited after one of them played in thirds, so they went about trying out different intervals.
It sort of reminded me the time when i started first bought the piano...
I dont think that those things mentioned above will be anything close to fascinating to you, but its so true that all of us started out this way.
Going back to my violin lesson, i have 5 new studies to do this week. On spiccato, octaves, double stops, random bowing and the last one on positions. I dont really need to learn all by next week, thats what he said, but it will be nice if i can get at least 80% of all. And since he's leaving next week to Macau, he let me choose a concerto to learn. December is definitely a nice time to brush up on everything.
I treated my parents to ice cream with my 50 bucks from the wedding while shopping. Anderson ice cream, swensons and hagan daz. Dont worry deb, i kept my promise =P there's still some money left. haha
~
Reflecting upon what my brother said before leaving for china, everything became so clear after i restringed my violin.
He complained of not getting his proper gear for training, which i sort of agreed with him.
One set of strings cost around 70 dollars, and i change every one month or so.
And one lesson per week is 40 dollars, plus all the violin necessities, maybe an extra 20 per month
Then theres this issue about me practising violin for 5 hours a day (average) and he cant play he's bridge online for 5 hours. He's in RJ bridge club and the only way to improve is by experience, just like everything else.
But the biggest problem with this is that my parents think that bridge = computer games, and 5 hours a day is too much. If i can practise 5 hours a day, why he cant play bridge for 5 hours since playing = practising.
As usual i decide not to interfere but listen,
why cant i have enough courage ( or some other word to replace this, guts/integrity..) to do whats right..
