Curtain closes...
Wonderful memories.. Time flies indeed. While reading through my reflections, the events that had happened, the milestones of the year 2006 still look so new and fresh in my mind. There are certainly many events ( within orchestra ) alone to remember. For me, Founder's Day - the first ever performance of the year, and i blew it by coming in 2 whole beats earlier. How unforgettable =P Then there was HAVEN and phil concert, the weeks of sweat, joy, laughter and sadness which turned out to be the best concert we had for quite some time. UK tour was too a blast where you see the younger players interacting so much with the oldies (i did not bother to talk to my seniors when i was year 1). It was the first time Seng Tiong enjoyed orchestra too! And my appointment. What a way to wrap up 2006 for the orchestra.
For school, Kluang trip in January - all the muddy games and waterbombs, with a war at the last day that invloved lots of blood shed ( real blood). Physics was the worst subject until i decided to use 3 whole weeks and it turned out to be a very rewarding experience. There was the carrom board that hooked our whole class to it. Dr Lee Li Eng speaker of the year award will be the most unforgettable thing in school, definitely. Chinese general knoledge quiz too, where we won by 200 points. Apart from these things, I will definitely miss my class, famous for our carrom, chinese and music.
Outside of school, theres Mr Zhang who i started to learn under him and then everything in my world seems to revolve around violin. Well he is one superb teacher then sort of "changed" alot of things in my life. And Malaysia trip at the end of the year with family members. There was the uni students too, and the inter-hall games too.
And the biggest topic, about friends. Well i know i dont really treasure them before this year. Until the start of this year.. i dont know why. The sponsorship excursion in June was the major turning point, and it was sometime then that i got hooked onto orchestra too. We went for a lot of concerts, went out together very frequently too. Thanks for everything...
So as the year comes to and end, special thanks goes out to firstly Chris for all the guidance etc, its really much appreciated. Then to oli ame and shua, haha a big thank you too. To zab and bryan, thanks for your "lessons" on close to everything, and i really enjoy having rehearsals with you all beside me, the drawings, random noises etc. To John Foo, haha, thanks. Really miss walking around with you in the morning to patrol and talk about anything. Then to the rest of 4.12, take care.. We are going to be year 5's next year le.. Come back for a few carrom games =P To the orchestra, thanks for your support and im looking forward in working for you all next year. Actually it has already started, a big thank you for making rehersals so enjoyable. Especially wilford and sengtiong, and lately LKM, joshua tan jing yan and poh (im sorry if i miss out your name). Then to Ian Lim Wei, haha you have the same birthday as me, so lets see who gets more present next year.. jk.. And then to some of the mg string players, you know who you are, thanks for everything ( that includes you Deborah Lin). And finally thanks to hoeyeong, ainsley and gw!
Sounds like star awards.. jk.
What i want next year: To do well both academically and cca wise. To make more friends (deborah watch out), to win in inter-hall carrom (whatever =P). To practise much harder for my violin, to be closer to my family and God, and to do all things for Him.
I want to thanks my director for giving me so many oppurtunities, my papa, mama, meimei, kor kor, auntie, ahma, uncle... =P
HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLE, bye 2006..
